Who needs a GST Registration?
Every business or corporation that is involved in the buying and selling and good of services has to register for GST. It is mandatory for companies whose turnover is more than Rs.20 lakhs (for the supply of services) and Rs. 40 lakhs ( for the supply of goods) yearly to register for a GST.
All businesses making interstate outward supplies of goods have to register for a GST too. The same applies to businesses making taxable supplies on behalf of other taxable persons, for example, Agents, and Brokers.
Also, as per the recent notification, e-commerce sellers/aggregators need not register if total sales are less than Rs.20 lakhs.
Mandatory documents for Online GST registration
1) Aadhaar Card (Linking your mobile number to your Aadhaar is mandatory).
2) PAN Card.
3) Bank Passbook / Cancelled Cheque.
4) Passport Size Photograph.
5) Specimen Signature (A clear photo of your signature on a blank white paper).
6) Handwritten Declaration (A photo of a document containing the following):
a) Your Full Name and detailed Residential Address.
b) Business Name and detailed Registered Office Address.
7) Electricity Bill (It is compulsory to provide the latest electricity bill for the business premises. The bill must display the complete and detailed address of the business).
8) Ownership Documents for the Business Premises:
a) If the property is owned by you: 7/12 Extract / Sale Deed / Form 8A.
b) If the property is owned by a family member:
i) 7/12 Extract / Sale Deed / Form 8A.
ii) No Objection Certificate (NOC) (Notarized on ₹100 Stamp Paper) OR
Rent Agreement (Notarized on ₹100 Stamp Paper).
c) If the property is owned by a third party (outside the family):
i) 7/12 Extract / Sale Deed / Form 8A.
ii) Rent Agreement (Notarized on ₹100 Stamp Paper) OR Registered Rent Agreement.
9) Directors/Share Holders/Partners Details (in case of Partnership & Private Limited)
a) Aadhar Card
b) Pan Card
c) Residential Address & Proof (Ration Card/Voting Card)
